KUALA LUMPUR, May 17 - About 1,000 Hindraf supporters have gathered at the Batu Caves temple to pray alongside recently-released leader P. Uthayakumar.
The crowd, many of whom had been there since 9am, will witness Uthayakumar shave off the long hair and beard he has kept since he was incarcerated more than a year ago.
Many of the supporters are wearing orange, the official colour of the banned movement.
They marched some 300 metres away where the ceremonial shaving will take place.
Uthayakumar has yet to arrive but Kapar MP M. Manickavasagam is already here. There is a small police presence.
